Symphonic Metal Upstarts ELVELLON Announce Second Album “Ascending in Synergy”

Rising symphonic metal force ELVELLON is set to release their second album, Ascending in Synergy, on May 17, 2024! The band has revealed the beautiful first single, “A Vagabond’s Heart”, featuring an exciting intro and one of the catchiest choruses on the album. The fresh ten track offering marks the outfit’s Napalm Records debut, and is the successor to their highly acclaimed 2018 album, Until Dawn, and 2015 EP, Spellbound. The official music video for the track “Born From Hope” from Until Dawn has reached 1.3M views on YouTube, and the EP version of the song has more than 2.5 Spotify streams.

Dubbed as “heroes of tomorrow” by Metal Hammer Germany, ELVELLON has performed at several festival stages both in their home country of Germany and abroad, such as RockHarz Festival, M’era Luna and Rock Fest Barcelona to name a few, and has shared the stage with significant bands in the scene such as VISIONS OF ATLANTIS. Check out the captivating music video for “A Vagabond’s Heart” below for a taste of what’s to come, and pre-order your copy of the upcoming album!

ELVELLON state:

“A Vagabond’s Heart” is based on a very old idea that goes way back to the early days of ELVELLON. We finally got back to the material during the songwriting for Ascending in Synergy because we knew we had a little treasure there.

Early on, even before the lyrics were written, many people around us saw it as a potential first single. Now, with the final lyrics and the song’s theme of ‘finding yourself’ being so important to the whole album and the album title, we’ve wholeheartedly agreed.

Watch the Official Music Video for “A Vagabond’s Heart” BELOW:

Pre-Order Ascending in Synergy NOW

Ascending in Synergy proves that this promising German unit is on top of their game and skilfully manages to balance the tightrope act between diving into the early beginnings of symphonic metal, yet splicing all songs with a contemporary vibe. Opening track “Unbound” impresses with skilful orchestral arrangements and vocalist Nele Messerschmidt’s extraordinary voice. Dramatic, dark soundscapes and heavy riffs on songs like “Ocean Of Treason” and “The Aftermath Of Life” keep the listener in a tight grip. ELVELLON’s dreamlike, cinematic side shines especially bright on tracks like “Last Of Our Kind” and “The Aeon Tree”. Massive album finale “Epiphany Of Mine” closes Ascending in Synergy impactfully, leaving the listener wanting for more.

ELVELLON about Ascending in Synergy:

We are incredibly excited to see how our fans will receive Ascending in Synergy. A lot has happened since our debut album and the songwriting process has changed a lot. It still feels like 100% ELVELLON to us, but the dynamics have expanded. It has become more orchestral and more metal at the same time. Also, lyrically we no longer stick to a single concept, but the songs are held together by a common thread.

Metal Vikings LEAVES’ EYES Premiere New Single/Video “Who Wants to Live Forever”

LEAVES’ EYES, release their much-awaited, new studio album “Myths Of Fate” via AFM Records on March 22, 2024. The album pre-sale is available at HERE! In support of their upcoming record release, LEAVES’ EYES have also announced an extensive touring schedule kicking off in March, find all live dates listed below!

Four years after bringing “The Last Viking” to Valhalla with their previous opus, LEAVES’ EYES resurrect with “Myths Of Fate” to celebrate their 20th year of existence. As the first singles such as “Forged By Fire“, “Realm Of Dark Waves” and the premiere of “Who Wants To Live Forever” prove, with their ninth studio album, the Germany-based act consolidates their leading position in the symphonic metal universe. Powerful, epic and impressive – the band once again merges traditional metal genres by fusing elements of folk, gothic, and classical music into a captivating sonic masterpiece!

With “Myths Of Fate”, the band set sails for new winds that definitely blow from the harsh shallows of the symphonic metal genre. The fantastic world of legends from Norse and Eastern European mythology is the setting for monumental entertainment: LEAVES’ EYES open up a world of magical places, spellbound weapons or supernatural creatures.

The band produced a total of five music videos with Mastersound Entertainment. Filmed on impressive locations in Iceland, Germany and Poland, they bring the myths captivatingly to the screen. Magic creatures, great battles and enchanting warrior queens come to live! Following the epic video for “Realm Of Dark Waves“, a new clip for the latest LEAVES’ EYES single, “Who Wants to Live Forever”, is available.

Watch the Official Video for “Who Wants to Live Forever”:

LEAVES’ EYES have always played in a league of their own. The international group has toured all populated continents, playing concerts in more than 50 countries, frequently reach top positions in the album charts and with every output they deliver a multimedia masterpiece when it comes to video clips and artwork.

In their multifaceted discography, LEAVES’ EYES naturally integrate various genres such as folk metal, Viking metal or symphonic metal into their unique sound creations. Legendary releases like “Vinland Saga” (2005) or “Njord” (2009) made them pioneers in their own league, a position they successfully confirmed with chart-breakers like “King Of Kings” (2015) or “Sign Of The Dragonhead” (2018). Their compositions are complex, though, always well balanced between heaviness and melodic atmosphere. Each of their mind-broadening lyrical concepts based on mediaeval mythology are thoroughly researched, offering their audience journeys to the past times of Vikings, myths and sagas.

Their live shows are spectacular events with breathtaking stage scenery, including a Viking ship or even the “Swords In Rock” monument from Norway. LEAVES’ EYES have been setting world history to music and undeniably, by doing so, have raced to the top of the symphonic metal tree.

Now, Alexander Krull once again exceeded his own standards in the producer’s chair. For the fine and complex compositions you will find on “Myths Of Fate”, he created an extraordinary and crystal-clear sound sphere with an undeniable live feeling. The band sounds raw and feisty, but still leaves space for affective atmospheres. The US soundtrack-multi-talent Jonah Weingarten contributes the impressive orchestral score that was created hand in hand with the metal arrangements. Moreover, Lea-Sophie Fischer (Eluveitie) on the fiddle and Thomas Roth’s play of the mediaeval Nyckelharpa add on mystical sounds to “Myths Of Fate”.

LEAVES’ EYES have created an entire universe of their own imagination that showcases their talent as storytellers and music perfectionists. No doubt, the band will leave an everlasting footprint in their own genre with this album. “Myths Of Fate” provides a dynamic soundtrack for a vivid escape into a magical world of mythology!

Dutch melodic metal band Pandora’s Key releases single and music video “Falls the Shadow”

Let Pandora’s Key guide you to a dark realm of melodic metal, where explosive and enchanting music weaves tales that echo long after the last note has faded. The band releases its second single “Falls the Shadow”, in preparation for the release of their first full-length album “Yet I Remain”.

“Falls the Shadow” is an explosion of sound and emotion. The track, inspired by T. S. Eliot’s “The Hollow Men” and the closing aria from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, draws its intensity from these lyrical classics. A new outlet for the age-old feeling of despair in the face of crises.

“Between the rise and the fall
Between the curtain and the call
Between the shroud and the pall
Falls the Shadow”

Pandora’s Key – Falls the Shadow

Watch the new video for “Falls the Shadow” below:

About Pandora’s Key and ‘Yet I Remain’:

Dark and intense, full of compelling melodies and catchy riffs. Pandora’s Key narrates mythical themes and links these to modern day issues. The band is ever searching for the beauty in the dark.

Melodic metal band Pandora’s Key was established in 2016 in the Dutch city of Breda, releasing the (inter)nationally well received debut EP “Prometheus Promise” one year later.

A period of growth and change followed, culminating at the start of the Covid era. Tackling the challenges presented by this period head-on, the band emerged more strongly connected than ever. The result of this is the debut album “Yet I Remain”, a celebration of musical liberty and passion. It is an album that explores the connections between seeming contradictions, between walls of sounds and quiet introspection, classical storytelling and primal emotions, violence and beauty. The result is an ambitious entry into melodic metal, threading the line between complexity and catchiness that demands the listener’s engagement. The album is set to be released on the 27th of January 2024, coinciding with a release show in home city Breda.

Pandora’s Key are:
Vera Veldhuizen – clean vocals
Rik van Schaaik – heavy vocals
Sebastiaan Pongers – lead guitar
Bram Luiken – rhythm guitar
Regine Lotstra – bass

Watch the video for ‘Outer Dimensions’:

The Catalyst is the most conceptually coherent piece of work in AMARANTHE’s storied history. Dedicated to notions of transformation and revelation, it delves deeper than any previous album, as Olof Mörck explains.

We’ve done these things before, but we’ve never been as theatrical as we have this time. In fact, we all questioned whether we went too far this time, but I also figured that this band was always this way. Literally the first seconds of our first video was a big explosion! But yes, The Catalyst is more theatrical than ever. We’ve never really been symphonic or orchestral before, but this time we just thought why not? Because we can! The key to this album is that we let go of the boundaries and decided to do something even more adventurous.”

The Catalyst represents the culmination of 15 years of hard work and the breathless pursuit of a wholly original musical vision. Change is inevitable. Victory is assured.

After nearly a decade, crossover legends KONTRUST make a stand with a revitalized line-up and groundbreaking fifth studio album!

Always hungry, wild and full of surprises, Austrian crossover legends KONTRUST are one of the most extravagant and exciting acts on the scene. With their new single and official music video for “lederhosen overkill” the band taps into their well-known stage attire, fusing modern and heavy tunes with the roots of their home country. The song is cut from their new studio album, madworld, out this Friday!

On their first album in nine years, KONTRUST present new vocalist Julia Ivanova and new drummer Joey Sebald, who already won over live audiences in the summer of 2022 at huge festivals such as Graspop Metal Meeting, Hellfest Open Air, Barcelona Rockfest and Resurrection Fest.

Throughout their two decade-spanning career, the Austrian based outfit has gained millions and millions of YouTube views with their exciting music videos, with over 15 million views on the electrifying hits “Hey DJ!” and “Bomba” alone. With their new album, madworld, KONTRUST prove their standing as an unpredictable force in the scene – ready to exceed everything they have achieved so far!

KONTRUST on “lederhosen overkill”:

Lederhosen, the ancient cursed battle attire of legends. These enchanted garments hold the power to harm both wearer and onlookers. Beware, for the mystical Dirndl are most vulnerable when these treacherous lederhosen fall into the wrong hands.

Without a shadow of a doubt, KONTRUST have enthralled fans and critics alike with an inimitable sense of fusing various genres like reggae, pop and dance with heavy hard rock riffs, spliced with their very own way of representing the roots of their home country. This synthesis of styles has brought them not only notable chart entries for several releases, but also high recognition in the form of the “Austrian Newcomer Award” for their debut album, as well as the “AMADEUS Austrian Music Award” – Austria’s biggest and most important prize for national bands and artists – for their second album, Time To Tango. On madworld, the chart-storming unit sticks to their lively, playful and experimental signature style, ready to entertain longtime and new audiences alike.

KONTRUST add:

In a world already spinning out of control, we’ve cranked up the madness to 11 on madworld.
