Shieldmaidens of MetalSimone Simons is best known for being the lead singer of Epica, the wildly successful Dutch symphonic metal band, which Simons joined when she was seventeen. Since her arrival, she has shown her talent on eight albums and several world tours. Simons has also made special appearances with a long list of other bands, and cites Nightwish’s “Oceanborn” album as a key driver in learning to sing in the classical style.
