Anette Olzon quickly took the global spotlight in 2007 after replacing Tarja Turunen as the lead singer in the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Olzon was featured on two critically acclaimed albums, Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum (the latter of which included a live-action movie). Her tenure with Nightwish came to abrupt end during the 2012 North American tour. She has since returned to her former band Alyson Avenue, worked on collaborative side projects such as The Dark Element and Allen/Olzon, and created a successful solo career.
